01 / 01We didn’t set out to build software.
ROAM started with a problem I was trying to solve in my own business.
I’m David, founder of ROAM and owner of a dog boarding and daycare business in County Durham.
Like many pet care business owners, I relied on software to manage bookings, customers, dogs, payments, vaccinations and the day-to-day running of the business. But finding a system that actually fitted the way we worked proved surprisingly difficult.
I tried more than ten different pet care platforms.
Some did certain things brilliantly. Others had features we loved. But there was always a compromise.
We found ourselves changing the way we ran our business to fit the software, rather than having software that worked around us.
Eventually, I stopped looking.
I decided to build the system I wanted to use myself.
That became ROAM.
What started as software for our own dog boarding business has grown into something much bigger: a platform designed around the realities of running a modern pet care business.

ROAM isn't being built from a boardroom or from assumptions about how pet care businesses operate.
